Background
Paul started his legal career in London and was the Senior Litigation Partner in a commercial practice in the West End before moving back to Yorkshire. In 1979 he returned to Leeds and the following year went into partnership with Ian Goldman at Godloves.
Paul heads the firm’s Personal Injury Department. He is a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel and a member of the Personal Injury Lawyer’s Association.
Paul is also a qualified family mediator and is very experienced in alternative dispute resolutions including commercial mediation. He has been a Deputy District Judge at Leeds Court so has plenty of experience of listening to both sides of a case.
Whilst continuing to deal with high value divorce and commercial litigation cases, his ability as a divorce lawyer was recognised by the publication ‘The Chambers UK Guide to the Legal Profession’.
Paul continues to be a driving force within the firm as he is the firm’s Marketing Partner and a member of the Management Board.
Experience
Paul has had a long and successful career in law and has built up an enviable portfolio of cases, a number of which have been represented at the Court of Appeal with new law being created as a result of the outcome.
He has won substantial claims for clients particularly in building dispute and personal injury claims.
Particular areas of expertise include:
- Accidents at work,
- Public liability claims i.e. slips and trips,
- High value divorces, and
- Commercial disputes.
