Prenuptial agreements have been making the news for some months now.
What is a prenuptial agreement?
A prenuptial agreement is a document entered into by a couple prior to their marriage or civil partnership which in essence sets out how they would like their finances to be dealt with in the event that their realtionship ends. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce or breakup of marriage. They may also include terms for the forfeiture of assets as a result of divorce on the grounds of adultery; further conditions of guardianship may be included as well.
Godloves Family Department have been involved in drafting and approving prenuptial agreements for many years and we can advise you on the process and enforceability of such documents.
