Background
Howard started his career with Jobbings Creasey qualifying as a solicitor in 1984. After a brief period with A V Hammond, he joined Teeman Levine in 1985 dealing with Wills, Trust, Probate and Conveyancing. He became a partner in Teeman Levine in 1990 and when the firm of Teeman Levine merged with Irwin Mitchell solicitors of Sheffield in 1996 he became a partner in the merged practice.
From then until May 2008 when he left Howard was a partner in the Private Client Department specialising in Conveyancing services, Wills, Trust and Probate. In the last six years Howard developed a speciality advising individuals who were considering taking out Equity Release on their property and over the last six years has represented hundreds of clients considering and requiring advice on this relatively new area of law.
Experience
Howard has advised clients in respect of wills trusts and probate services in connection with:
- The preparation of Wills and inheritance tax planning for high net worth individuals and Lifetime Trust creation both as part of an overall inheritance tax planning strategy and to address family succession issues
- Lasting Powers of Attorney, their creation and implementation
- Probate work.
In Conveyancing Howard has advised clients in not only the usual transactional sale and purchase and re-mortgage work but also
- Matrimonial Conveyancing involving transfers following divorce, Mortgages between the Petitioner and Respondent, property negotiations between them and dealing with life policies.
- Relocation Sales and Purchases.
- Probate Conveyancing
- Equity release- both of the equity reversion type and lifetime mortgage type
